Verb

The verb "deaden" means to make something less sensitive, less intense, or less lively. It can refer to reducing the volume, intensity, or force of sound, sensation, or emotion. For example, one might deaden the sound of a noisy street by closing the windows or use earplugs to deaden the sound of loud music.
