walkabout

noun

"Walkabout" is a term that originated from Australian Aboriginal culture, and it refers to a spiritual journey taken by an individual in the wilderness for an extended period of time, often lasting several months. During this journey, the person disconnects from their daily routine and seeks to gain insight and understanding about themselves and the world around them.

In modern usage, "walkabout" can also refer to a leisurely stroll or wandering, often with no particular destination in mind. It can also refer to a temporary period of travel or exploration, during which a person takes a break from their usual routine to explore new places and experiences.
