Besiege means to surround or attack a place or person with a lot of people or things. For example, if there was a castle and a group of knights wanted to take it over, they might besiege the castle by surrounding it and attacking it until they get what they want.

1. The city was besieged by the enemy for days.
2. The protestors besieged the courthouse in a peaceful demonstration.
3. The castle was beset by an army of orcs.
