"Castle" is a very large and strong building that was built a long time ago. Castles have tall walls, towers, and sometime it's surrounded by water. In the past, kings, queens, and knights used to live in castles. They were built to protect the people inside from enemies. You might have seen one in a fairy tale, with big gates and often located on top of hills.
