Papaya is also known as pawpaw or papaw. It has a oval or pear-shaped, with smooth, green skin that turns yellow, orange, or red when ripe. Flesh of the papaya is soft, orange, and has a sweet, musky flavor. Papayas contain small, black seeds in the center of the fruit.
