Plants have a life cycle just like us! In a plant life cycle, plants need 4 main things to survive: water, sunlight, soil and air.
Water
Water is important for plants to grow because it helps them take in nutrients from the soil and helps them stay healthy.
Sunlight
Sunlight helps the plant to make food. This process is called photosynthesis.
Soil
Soil provides the roots with the necessary nutrients and water that the plant needs to grow.
Air
Air helps the plant breathe. Plants breathe in carbon dioxide and they breathe out oxygen. Our human breathe in oxygen, so we really need plants to be able to survive!
Plants need all of these things to go through its life cycle, from germination to growth and eventually to reproduction.
