What is Badminton?

Badminton is a game where players hit a special feathered ball, called a "shuttlecock," back and forth over a net.

Number of Players

Badminton can be played one-on-one, called "singles," or with two players on each side, called "doubles."

  2. Racket: Equipment used to hit the shuttlecock.
  3. Shoes: Non-slip shoes specially designed for the court.

The rectangular court has a "net" in the middle.

The court is marked with specific lines, and points are scored when the shuttlecock lands within these lines.

  • Serve: The initial shot to start the game.
  • Net Play: Playing the shuttlecock just above the net.
  • Out: When the shuttlecock goes outside the court lines, that shot is considered "out."
  • Point: Points are scored when the shuttlecock lands in the opponent's court and they can't return it.
